Mette Sønderby Christensen is the artisan behind Simille which is a large collection of wonderful handmade clothes and accessories for children – clothes, aprons, bibs, blanket, sewn toys and much more.
Mette learned to sew in her childhood home, where she was encouraged to be creative. When she was 10 years old she made clothes for her dolls on her grandmothers Titan machine. She has shared her joy of sewing with her sister and mother who have both learned her to try out things and that every single handmade item is a piece of art, but that the quality and finish should always be high.
She primarily makes clothes for small children in good quality fabrics for example Liberty of London. It makes her happy, that she makes parents happy about the things she makes for their children. All items are made with the heart and she always imagines the little ones when she create the items.
Her creative skills as seamstress is a good counterpart to her everyday job as a gartner in a cemetery with plants, big machines and tractors.
Similles children clothes and accessories will be for sale on our coming webshop for nordic handmade design, art and crafts. We open March 29th and there will be 10% discount on all items for the first 72 hours. So keep an eye out for the opening date and get hold of one of these limited edition items.
