Sine Bendiksen is a designer and the creator of a collection of handmade silver jewellery made in her own workshop in Copenhagen. All her jewellery pieces are made in solid silver and are meant to last you a lifetime and more. Each piece of jewelry is unique due to the process by which they are made.
The jewellery is designed and shaped in wax. The wax is solid and hard, so she works her way into the wax to find the shape of each piece of jewellery. When the wax model is finished, a silicon mold is made of it. The silicone mold is used in the casting process, where the jewellery is made in solid silver.
After the casting, the jewellery are rough and dull, so they need to be renovated, which means removing traces of the casting, and that they are grinded and polished on the surface. In this process, each piece of jewellery become unique.
As the rings forms runs all the way around your finger, there is a limit as to how much each ring can be scaled up and down in size. An excessive scaling will simply deform the design. So each ring is made in a few sizes but you can easily find on to fit your finger, as she has a vast collection made also for mixing and matching.
Sine Bendiksen graduated from the Danish Design School in 2003 and has worked with design ever since. The inspiration for the jewellery comes through a search for the beauty of a subject that in its form expresses a perfection.
